Joey's Story
Joey Miller is a University of Delaware graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science and a deep-rooted connection to coastal communities. Growing up near the shoreline fostered his appreciation for marine ecosystems and ultimately guided his career toward sustainable aquaculture.
During his time at the University of Delaware, Joey developed a focused interest in oyster farming and gained extensive hands-on experience at UD’s Pilot Scale Oyster Hatchery. There, he trained in hatchery operations, larval rearing, seed production, and aquaculture system management.
Trevor's Story
Trevor Pidgeon is a University of Delaware graduate in marine science. He grew up fishing and spending as much time on the water as possible, which first drew him to marine science and eventually to oyster farming. Trevor has previous experience working on an oyster farm, where he gained hands-on knowledge of shellfish husbandry, gear management, and estuarine conditions. “Starting this farm has given us the opportunity to substantially improve the bay’s health.”
Speaking about their product selection, they added, “Oysters aren’t just food; they are part of a healthier estuary, helping filter the water and support the life that depends on it. Our goal is to consistently grow the healthiest and tastiest oysters.”
By combining practical experience on the water with a scientific understanding of estuarine systems, Trevor is committed to producing high-quality oysters that reflect the character of Delaware’s Inland Bays.
